I have to agree lots of good friends actually in the smoking area and it does seem a bit weird having my kids in the same boat.. and they tell me all the time how I don't understand.. Wayne you are right I don't feel any older but of course to the kids I am ancient.

Hi all, I am just posting to let everyone know that I am doing okay over in the flood. Things looked prety bleak for a while but with the many prayers that were made things have worked out well and now if they would just get our water back on things would be prety good. I think we lost our primary car for a while though. It may take me a while to figure out just how to get it running again. I am guessing though that the computer is fried soaking up that much water. Our property was completely submerged for about 12 hours and then the water started reciding. Our power came back on today about 2:30 or so. We were one of the fortunant ones that didn't end up with water inside their home here in the Curtis/Chalis valley althouth it was upto and in our heater vents. All but 3 of our cats have been accounted for as of this afternoon and I am hoping to find the rest of them okay. Well, that is our update form the Westside of Washington.

Thanks Ed. Many are worse off than we are. Today my area of concern is getting some clean water. For many here, they are still w/o homes and some missing family. We are very Blesses to be only missing one kitty out of our many. I may try to goto LongView later for some food too but I am not sure yet. Anything north of us is inaccessible.

Well, just an update ... I spoke with the water folks and they said it will be at least a week before we are able to have any water. I am glad that wasn't what the power people had to say LOL. However, it sounds like starting tomarrow (if I can get there) we can go pick water up at the water substation for our area. I was able to get some water from our local grange but it is barly enough for us to drink let alone do dishes or water the animals. Yet, I Praise God for heat, electricty and a rundown shack of a trailer that is dry and comparitively unharmed by all the flooding. I will never understand why some have the trials of Job and others seem to live a relitively good life. Myself, I am just blessed with the inbetween stuff. I know both the good and the bad and am able to appriciate the value of having both.
God Bless you all, Michael |
